Strawberry Lemonade Cake

Instructions

  1. Make one full recipe of both of the VeryVera Lemon Layer Cake and Strawberry Layer Cake found in The VeryVera Cookbook – Recipes from my Table.
  2. Place layers on three 13x18 baking sheets and refrigerate to cool all layers.
  3. Trim layers so they are the height of the baking sheet.

Cake One Assembly

  1. Place one dollop of icing on the bottom cake circle to hold cake in place.
  2. Place a trimmed strawberry layer down.
  3. Add ¾ cup strawberry icing and spread over the layer.
  4. Place a lemon layer cake on top.
  5. Add ¾ cup strawberry icing and spread over the layer.
  6. Place a strawberry layer on top.
  7. Crumb coat the cake with lemon icing. Stick back into the refrigerator.
  8. When ready, put a final layer of lemon icing on the whole cake.
  9. Decorate with a strawberry icing Kitty Swirl on top of the cake (reference the cookbook).

  9. Decorate with a lemon icing Kitty Swirl on top of the cake.
