Instructions
- Make one full recipe of both of the VeryVera Lemon Layer Cake and Strawberry Layer Cake found in The VeryVera Cookbook – Recipes from my Table.
- Place layers on three 13x18 baking sheets and refrigerate to cool all layers.
- Trim layers so they are the height of the baking sheet.
Cake One Assembly
- Place one dollop of icing on the bottom cake circle to hold cake in place.
- Place a trimmed strawberry layer down.
- Add ¾ cup strawberry icing and spread over the layer.
- Place a lemon layer cake on top.
- Add ¾ cup strawberry icing and spread over the layer.
- Place a strawberry layer on top.
- Crumb coat the cake with lemon icing. Stick back into the refrigerator.
- When ready, put a final layer of lemon icing on the whole cake.
- Decorate with a strawberry icing Kitty Swirl on top of the cake (reference the cookbook).
Cake Two Assembly

- Add ¾ cup lemon icing and spread over the layer.
- Place a strawberry layer cake on top.
- Add ¾ cup lemon icing and spread over the layer.
- Place a lemon layer on top.
- Crumb coat the cake with strawberry icing. Stick back into the refrigerator.
- When ready, put a final layer of strawberry icing on the whole cake.
- Decorate with a lemon icing Kitty Swirl on top of the cake.
