Ingredients
Meat Loaf
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1 tsp. salt
- Pepper to taste
- ¼ to ½ cup chopped mild onion (Vidalia)
- 1 ½ pounds ground chuck
- ½ cup medium saltine cracker crumbs
- ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
Sauce:
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp. light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
- 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon dried marjoram
- Dash pepper
Instructions
- For the meatloaf, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, combine the eggs, tomato sauce, thyme, marjoram, salt, and pepper.
- Add the onion, ground chuck, cracker crumbs, and bell pepper and mix well.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place on a rimmed baking pan.
- For the sauce, combine the tomato sauce, brown sugar, seasoned salt, vinegar, thyme, marjoram, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the meat loaf.
- Bake for about 1 ¼ hours.
- Pour off the excess juice.
