Ingredients
- Baking spray
- 2 (8-ounce) cans crushed pineapple in juice
- 1 c firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
- 1 c chopped pecans
- 1 c (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F and prepare a 9x13-inch pan with baking spray.
- In the bottom of the prepared pan, dump the cans of crushed pineapple with the juice and spread evenly. Do not drain the juice.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the pineapple.
- Spread the yellow cake mix (unprepared) over the brown sugar and sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cake mix.
- Pour the melted butter over the top of the nuts.
- Bake for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and place the pan on a wire rack to cool. Let cool completely before slicing.
