Pecan Dump Cake

Ingredients

  • Baking spray
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans crushed pineapple in juice
  • 1 c firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 c chopped pecans
  • 1 c (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and prepare a 9x13-inch pan with baking spray.
  2. In the bottom of the prepared pan, dump the cans of crushed pineapple with the juice and spread evenly. Do not drain the juice.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the pineapple.
  4. Spread the yellow cake mix (unprepared) over the brown sugar and sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cake mix.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the top of the nuts.
  6. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and place the pan on a wire rack to cool. Let cool completely before slicing.
