Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter, room temp
- 1/4 c light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 c old-fashioned rolled oats
- 4 large Cosmic Crisp apples
- 2 tbsp. raisins
- 3/4 c warm water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- With a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, mix the butter, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined. Stir in the oats and raisins. Set aside.
- Core the apples: Using a paring knife or apple corer, cut around the core, about halfway to ¾ way down into the apple. Use a spoon to carefully dig out the core. Once the core is out, use a spoon to dig out the seeds.
- Place cored apples in an 8 to 9-inch baking pan. Spoon filling into each apple, filling all the way to the top of the apple.
- Pour warm water into the pan around the apples.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until apples appear slightly soft.
- Remove apples from the oven and allow to cool 2-3 minutes before serving.
- Serve with salted caramel, whipped cream, or ice cream.
- Cover tightly and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
