KitKat Chocolate Layer Cake

This cake is truly a showstopper! Use your favorite kind of cake for the layers!

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch chocolate layer cake
  • 1 1/2 c chocolate and vanilla frosting, combined
  • 11 (1.5 oz. each) KIT KAT® Bars
  • Additional (any size) White or Milk Chocolate KIT KAT® Bars for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare your favorite chocolate cake following the package or recipe directions for two 9-inch layers; cool completely
  2. Stir together chocolate frosting and vanilla frosting until thoroughly blended
  3. Frost cake
  4. Remove wrappers from chocolate bars; break into sticks along the natural breaking points
  5. Trim sticks to match height of frosted cake; set aside pieces cut off
  6. Arrange the trimmed sticks along the outside of the cake
  7. Garnish center of cake with the reserved chocolate bar trimmings along with additional bars, broken into irregular length pieces
