Ingredients

  • 2 (21 oz) cans cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 c rolled oats
  • 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 5 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 -4 5” heart shaped pans (Amazon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease the 5” heart-shaped pans with butter.
  3. Open both cans of pie filling and evenly distribute into the prepared pans, spreading evenly across the bottom.
  4. In a large bowl, stir to combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and butter.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the pie filling.
  6. Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Note: A 9x9” baking dish can be used, which will yield 1 serving.
  8. TIP: Be sure to use light brown sugar. The dark brown sugar contains more molasses and will make the dish too sweet.
