Cast Iron Steak


  • T-bone steak, 1-inch thick
  • Montreal steak seasoning, to taste
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. unsalted butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Season both sides of the steak with Montreal steak seasoning.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a cast iron skillet on medium to medium-low on the cooktop until it starts to smoke.
  4. Place the steak in the cast iron skillet and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Flip the steak and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Place the butter on top of the steak.
  7. Place the cast iron skillet in the oven and and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for another 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Enjoy!
