onions, sliced thick
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Sauté in ½ stick butter just
until transparent
2 Tbs. flour – sift over onions
Pour over this 2/3
cup chicken broth and 1/3 cup sherry and cook about 5 minutes.
Salt & Pepper
to taste
Take spatula and transfer to shallow baking dish. Over
this sprinkle:
1 ½ cup soft bread crumbs
½ cup
sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 Tbs. parmesan cheese
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
