Sweet & Sour Green Beans
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup bacon drippings
2 quarts cooked green beans, preferably large, flat beans |
1 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
10 slices crisp-fried bacon, crumbled |
Saute' the onion in the bacon drippings in a skillet until tender; drain. Combine the
onion, green beans, vinegar and sugar in a saucepan and mix well. Simmer for 10
minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the crumbled bacon and mix well. Simmer for
10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the crumbled bacon and mix well.
Serves 10-12.
(By the way, I don't eat this way very often...but it really is SO good)
